The Ellis Home has been insulated extensively and has storm windows insulating the original windows. High-efficiency central heat and air keeps the house comfortable but keeps utilities low. The main floor, second floor, and basement are all heated and cooled.
NATURAL GAS BILLS
The water heater, central heat and the sunroom floor furnace are all natural gas. With January & February 2007 the coldest months on record and the record two week ice store in late January, our heat bills were still great. (We use the sunroom floor furnace for auxillary heating only.)
